BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — All Brevard Public Schools campuses will reopen Thursday, Nov. 5, after the district completed assessments following this week’s severe weather and flooding.

The flooding washed out the only road into a Palm Bay neighborhood, leaving about 60 households stranded. Read Channel 9’s coverage of the Palm Bay washout.

Bus routes and after-school activities resume

The district said buses will run on their normal schedules, though families should expect possible delays in areas still affected by the storm. Before- and after-school care, sports and other after-school activities will resume as scheduled.

The district will excuse all storm-related student absences.

Boil water notice remains in effect at some schools

Several schools, primarily in southern Brevard County, remain under a boil water notice through the end of the week because of a City of Melbourne water utility advisory, the district said.

The district said it has put additional precautions in place. Affected schools will contact families directly with more information.
