Brides-to-be scramble to find new venue after Noah’s closes doors nationwide

LAKE MARY, Fla. — Thousands of brides-to-be in Central Florida and the rest of the country are scrambling to find a new place to tie the knot after Noah’s Event Venue closed all the doors to its national chain, including the Lake Mary location.

Rachel Ohly’s special day was supposed to be this Sunday at Noah’s. She paid around $9,000 to the Lake Mary location, but found out over the weekend that it had closed due after filing for bankruptcy.

“All these brides on these social media sites are saying they their wedding is in November, and I’m like, ‘Mine’s in a week, and I don’t know what to do at this point.’”

On Monday afternoon, the Ohly’s received an email saying the Ohly family could still hold the reception at the venue, but Noah’s will not be the management or service company.

Channel 9 saw people inside the Lake Mary location on Monday, but they declined to talk.

Vendors like Destiny’s Venue in Longwood are scrambling to help brides like Ohly who have been left without a venue.

“We are scrambling to see what venues are available, because I’m thinking everyone will be willing to help now," owner Keith Lovett said. “(We are) just trying to get those dates with those venues available.”
