ORLANDO, Fla. — Calling all veterans: American Legion to host virtual job fair

The American Legion’s Veterans Employment and Education Commission will be holding a virtual job fair March 9.

The event is open to all veterans, their spouses and working-age dependents.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m CST and is free.

Companies that are expected to participate include Amazon, Rolls-Royce, FedEx, United States Border Patrol, and United States Secret Service.

According to the American Legion, nearly 200,000 veterans leave service each year.

The latest numbers from the U.S. Department of Labor show the unemployment rate among veterans in January at 3.5%, a 0.2%  percent increase from December 2021.

Those wishing to participate in the job fair can register until the day of the event here.
