Car crashes into DeLand Publix that was also struck by plane

DeLAND, Fla. — A car struck the same Publix store in DeLand that had a plane crash through its roof less than a year ago.

The accident happened about 9 a.m., but no one was seriously injured, authorities said.

Investigators said a woman stepped on the gas and jumped a parking curb, causing her car to hit the building.

The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

There was no damage to the building, authorities said.

Earlier this year, the Publix was shut down for a couple of months after a plane crashed into the roof of the building.

The plane’s 60-year-old pilot, Kim Presbrey, died due to complications from his third-degree burns.
