ORLANDO, Fla. — Two men wanted for murder were killed in a crash, along with an 18-year-old woman, while fleeing from officers who were trying to pull them over Thursday night, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Jason Carr Jr. and Frank Whack, both 18, died at the scene. Keyonda Fordum, 18, died at a local hospital early Friday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the other two 18-year-old passengers, Von Darius Whitlock, who is in serious condition, and Tyreshall Pond, who is in critical condition, were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Investigators said they were attempting to arrest Carr. Jr. and Whack, who were wanted for a murder that happened on Tuesday on Westmoreland Drive.
FHP said that the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a drainage ditch as he was trying to flee from officers near the intersection of John Young Parkway and Princeton Street at about 7:30 p.m.
"As they attempted to light him up, turn their lights on, he took off from them, accelerated away from them, and that was it," Sgt. Vince Ogburn of the Orlando Police Department said. "Came down the road here and lost control of the vehicle that they were driving and was not able to negotiate the turn."
Orlando police used a crane early Friday morning to pull the car out of the ditch.
"Those two people who are dead, they are in fact the two suspects we were looking for from the homicide that occurred earlier this week, from the homicide at Westmoreland Drive," Ogburn said.
Police said the man who was shot and killed on Tuesday was a street preacher. They also said the victim's identity was not released because his family has not been found.
