SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A Central Florida Halloween tradition raised more than $5,000 for Make-A-Wish of Central and Northern Florida on Saturday.
Seminole Science Charter School teamed up with A Petrified Forest for its annual Kids Day, with ticket sales from the family-friendly event benefiting the nonprofit.
Families took part in trick-or-treating, a costume parade, games and crafts. Seminole Science Charter School students and staff donated 43,000 pieces of candy for the event.
Organizers said Kids Day has raised about $55,000 for the local Make-A-Wish chapter since the event began.
The money has helped Make-A-Wish grant wishes for children with critical conditions.
