ORLANDO, Fla. — When it comes to shopping, the day after Christmas is typically second only to Super Saturday.
Central Florida was no exception.
Skywitness 9 flew over the Florida Mall and the Mall at Millenia just before noon, which were packed with shoppers.
Bumper-to-bumper traffic surrounded the Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland Avenue.
Deputies were out in full force directing traffic and tried to point shoppers in the right direction so they could find parking.
“We got lucky. We pulled in and someone was pulling right out. I saw people waiting a long time,” said shopper Darryl Watkins.
Some shoppers said they were willing to wait and walk long distances.
“Parking was horrible. We parked across the street at a grocery store and then walked,” said shoppers Shaquita Shaw.
While parking might have been hard to find, it was easy to spot the good deals.
The marketing director for the outlets said some stores were offering anywhere from 40 to 75 percent off.
“Banana Republic, everything is 50 percent off, and Northface is doing some amazing deals on their really popular merchandise,” said Lorena Garcia. “You get deals just all over.”
