OCALA, Fla. — Community Stages will host a free open house on Aug 29 to launch its fall 2026 season. The event runs from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Chelsea Art Center located at 3305 E. Silver Springs Blvd in Ocala.
The open house offers community members an opportunity to meet teaching staff, explore upcoming programs, and view two performance showcases by ensemble actors and singers.
Ensembles from the organization will perform two short showcases, with the first scheduled for 4:30 pm and the second at 5:15 pm The event concludes at 6 pm.
Youth performance classes offered this fall include the Trunk & Trek Troupe: Holiday Edition for ages 9 to 18. The ensemble meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings to rehearse and perform “A Christmas Wizard of Oz” by Kathryn Schultz Miller. Additionally, the new Homeschool Players program for ages 8 to 12 meets on Tuesday daytime sessions to prepare “It’s Christmas, Carol,” a holiday musical by John Jacobson and Roger Emerson.
For younger children, the Family Playhouse class pairs youth ages 5 to 9 with an adult partner twice a month on Sundays to create and share through theatre. Adult offerings include HeartStrings & Harmonies, a musical theatre and vocal ensemble, and ArtiFacts, a storytelling and community performance group.
Fall classes begin in September, with class productions planned for December.
