Evening Forecast: Sunday, August 23, 2026 (WFTV)

CENTRAL FLA. — It was an unsettled Sunday for many, but drier conditions are expected to start the work week.

The rain and storms will quickly wind down this evening, with partly cloudy skies remaining for the overnight. Morning lows will be in the mid 70s.

Some slightly drier air does look to arrive for Monday. Scattered showers and storms will develop in the midday and early afternoon, but coverage will be lower. Temps will be in the mid-90s.

The lower chances of rain and storms will continue into midweek. Just a scattering of activity is anticipated, with highs in the mid-90s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Deeper tropical moisture does work back into the area late week. This will result in higher rain and storm coverage across the region on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures holding in the mid-90s.

Elevated rain and storm chances will likely continue into next weekend, with temperatures in the low 90s.
