The launch of the Delta IV heavy rocket was scrubbed Thursday at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
The launch had been pushed back several times due to the weather.
The rocket was set to carry a surveillance satellite into space.
Officials said it is one of the world's largest satellites.
The satellite will provide surveillance for agencies, including the NSA and the CIA.
The next launch attempt will be on Saturday.
