ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — One person has died and two people were injured Sunday evening when a boat and a jet ski collided on Lake Palmer near Windermere, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
The collision was reported shortly before 8 p.m., Orange County Lt. Ken Taylor said.
Larry Marin, 37, the driver of the personal watercraft died at the hospital and his passenger, Glorimar Correa, 40 has serious injuries, deputies said.
William Bryant, III, 39, the driver of the boat, was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, deputies said.
Witness Carina Lee Rodriguez said her friends rescued the victims from the water and took them ashore.
"The guy was, like, bleeding, and the lady couldn't breath," Rodriguez said. "She couldn't feel her legs."
Investigators said the collision occurred with such force that it sunk the personal watercraft.
No other details were given.
