OAK HILL, Fla — Seven people were arrested after a meth lab bust at a home in Oak Hill Friday, investigators said.
A 9-year-old child was found in the home and was supervised by the Florida Department of Children and Families until the boy was given to a relative.
An investigation led agents with East Volusia Narcotics Task Force to a trailer on Maytown Road.
Agents said when they knocked on the door, it took a suspiciously long time for anyone to answer.
Agents said they got a strong whiff of a chemical odor and suspected there were meth-making materials in the home.
When the homeowner allowed agents to look around, they saw a plastic bottle in a bedroom with hose coming out of it, along with other meth-making materials spread throughout the home.
Once agents obtained a search warrant, hazmat teams began searching the home.
They found 109 grams of meth oil and 8.2 grams of methamphetamine, along with other materials and paraphernalia associated with a meth lab.
They also found two loaded guns, one of which was stolen, and ammunition.
Scott Brown, 31, Terry Law, 50, James Manns, 44, Jason Melvin, 45, John Norris 52, Vicki Rodgers-Stowe, 62, and Amanda Zurwell, 33, were arrested on numerous drug charges, including manufacturing methamphetamine in the presence of a child.
