Deputies: Orange County woman walks in on intruder

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies are searching for a man who neighbors said assaulted a woman in her home Thursday morning.

She told deputies when she went inside her home on Miscindy Place, near South Bumby Avenue, there was an intruder inside.

Deputy cruisers lined the street, which neighbors said was a strange sight.

“Once or twice I have seen them looking for someone, but not this many, no,” said resident Wendell Perdue.

Perdue said the deputies told him his neighbor was attacked after she came home to find an intruder in her house.

“I am retired law enforcement so I am not shocked at anything, but surprised, yes, very surprised,” he said.

Deputies have not confirmed that anything happened in the house.

The detectives spent the day talking to the victim and her husband.

They also rang on doorbells to interview neighbors.

“I am surprised because this is a very quiet neighborhood. To have something like this happen is disturbing,” said Perdue.
