SANFORD, Fla. — A car salesman was carjacked at knifepoint during a test ride, Seminole County deputies said.

Nino Villanueva, who had only been on the job for two weeks, told deputies that a man, identified as Allen Pendergrass, walked into Mastro Subaru in Sanford about 1 p.m. Saturday and asked to test drive a Hyundai.

When the two drove off the lot and made it to East Lake Mary Boulevard and North Ronald Reagan Boulevard, deputies said Pendergrass pulled out a large kitchen knife from a bag and held it up to the Villanueva’s face as he demanded he get out of the car.

“When he was taking the knife, I only thought of my family and especially my unborn child,” Villanueva said.

Villanueva got out of the vehicle, removed the magnetic dealer license plate and hit Pendergrass in the shoulder, deputies said.
