Deputies: Serial robber strikes Deltona liquor store

DELTONA, Fla. — A robber who hit the same convenience store two nights in a row may have struck again, according to Volusia County deputies.

Deputies said the brazen crook robbed a Circle K on Elkcam Boulevard in Deltona on Sunday, and then went back a second time on Monday.

They said the man is likely between 18 and 22 years old, tall and skinny with a mole under his left eye.

On Tuesday, deputies said a man matching the same description as the Cirkle K robbed a Deltona Liquor right across the street.

Police flooded the neighborhoods around the crime scenes trying to identify the robber quickly because they fear he might up the ante and hurt somebody.

Chadi Safar owns Deltona Liquor and said his store took a big hit.

“He got away with $760,” Safar said.

Safar said it was the first time his store had ever been robbed and now he’s taking new steps to make it the last time.

“Yeah, I’m armed,” he said.

He said he will now wear a bulletproof vest at work in case the robber strikes again.

“If he comes back and I’m around, I’m shooting,” Safar said. “He better watch out when he comes.”

Deputies posted pictures next to the Circle K asking the public’s help in tracking down the robber.

They also went door-to-door passing out fliers to help crack the case.

“They asked me if I have ever seen him and I said no,” said Deltona resident Jamal Riasos.

Riasos said investigators stopped him twice seeking information about the robber.
