CVS robbery in Altamonte Springs

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — An employee was attacked during a robbery at a CVS store, Altamonte Springs police said Tuesday.

Investigators said the incident happened at the CVS store on State Road 434 while getting ready to open around 6:30 a.m. Authorities said it's the third robbery at the CVS location in the past few years.

Police said the masked robber tied the employee to a chair and was armed with a knife,.

"That doesn't make me feel safe. So now, I have to watch my surroundings," said customer Jumika Robinson. "People come to work to make a living and for individuals to do something like that, they need to be captured.

Investigators are looking through surveillance video in hopes of tracking down the robber.

"What I can tell you right now is it's a white male, described as approximately 5-foot-10 (inches), 200 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie and it looks like he did cover his face with a black cloth," said Rob Pelton of the Altamonte Springs Police Department.

The employee was not badly hurt, authorities said.
