EUSTIS, Fla. — The Eustis Police Department is investigating the report of a person found hanging from a tree near the intersection of State Road 19A and the US 441 overpass on Wednesday afternoon.
A passerby alerted authorities to the location after spotting the individual suspended from a tree by a thin rope. Officers determined the person had been at the site for several hours and was beyond life-saving measures upon their arrival.
Lake County Deputies were called to the location to process the scene while Eustis detectives began an investigation into the circumstances of the death. Investigators reported that there is currently no evidence of foul play involved in the incident.
The identity of the individual is not being released at this time, as officials are withholding the name and other identifying information pending notification of the next of kin.
Traffic in the area was not impacted by the law enforcement response at the overpass.
The body will be turned over to the medical examiner’s office as detectives continue to work the case.
