ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County mother accused of neglecting her four young children is still in jail and now family members are speaking out in her defense.
Tiffany Rundell is accused of leaving her children home alone in filthy conditions. She was arrested Tuesday night.
One of Rundell's relatives emailed WFTV Wednesday night and described her as a single mom in emotional distress.
He said Rundell loves her children and reached out to the Department of Children and Families just days before her arrest.
However, concerned neighbors said something needs to be done.
“Something bad is going to happen and it needs to be stopped. My concern is the kids, that's it. Not the mother, the kids,” said an unidentified neighbor.
Rundell has a long history with DCF, but has never lost custody of her children.
The children are with their grandmother right now, and can be returned to Rundell if she bonds out.
