ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Nearly a year has passed since a father of 11 children was gunned down outside his home.
His killer still has not been caught.
Terrance Cook was 27 at the time and had walked outside his Orange County home before being fatally shot.
"Well they say time heals all wounds. Not yet for us," said Terrance Cook's sister, Tequila Cook.
Orange County Sheriff's detectives said there were witnesses, and they do have leads, but so far not enough to make an arrest.
They said they need someone to step forward who's willing to testify about what they saw.
"I miss my son so much. I miss his smile, I miss his jokes, his laughter," the victim's mother, Linda Richmond, said.
"We are very close to putting an end to this story but we need people to come up and say this is what I saw, and be willing to testify," said Detective Danny Garcia Pagan with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Cook's family believes there are many people who could step forward, but haven't.
They hope seeing their family, and Terrance Cook's kids, will convince someone to be brave enough to stand up and speak.
"We're crying out for mercy. We're crying out for justice. And we're crying out for courage," Terrance Cook's stepfather Alvin Richmond said.
