Father requests HIV test from 18-year-old accused of sexually abusing son

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — An 18-year-old man who was beaten unconscious after a Daytona Beach father said he found him sexually abusing his 11-year-old son will undergo HIV testing.

On Thursday, Raymond Frolander pleaded not guilty to a charge of sexual battery on a child under 12.

The father of the abused boy said he requested the test because he wants to know if Frolander passed something on to his son. The family is not being identified by The Associated Press.

Frolander is being held without bail in the Volusia County Jail following the July 18 incident.

Police said the father beat Frolander with his fists after walking in on the abuse. The father has not been charged.

He told the newspaper his son is doing well.
