FHP: 2 killed in Boggy Creek Road crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two people who died in a crash on Boggy Creek Road Friday morning have been identified by Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

FHP said the victims are Maritza Vasquez and Yezenia Morales, who are both 38 and from Kissimmee.

According to troopers, Vasquez was driving a 1996 Infiniti when she tried to turn left onto Boggy Creek Road from New Hope Road. Vasquez, whose passenger was Morales, turned into the direct path of a dump truck traveling northbound on Boggy Creek Road, FHP said.

"Sad, sad, very sad," said a resident who lives near the crash scene. "It's heart wrenching to see, such a tragic loss."

The driver of the dump truck, 52-year-old Victor Gonzalez, was not injured in the crash.

The road was shut down while troopers investigated the crash, but has since reopened.

"Boggy Creek is a busy street, but I've never seen anything like this," said a resident.

Family members of the victims showed up at the crash scene and were visibly upset. FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
