ORLANDO, Fla. — May is Community Action Month, and a bank partnered with a local nonprofit organization to help feed the Orlando community.
Sixty volunteers from Fifth Third Bank pitched in at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida on Thursday.
They packed food for neighbors who experience hunger as part of the bank’s “Day of Action.”
According to Second Harvest, one in eight Central Floridians faces food insecurity in their families.
Fifth Third also presented a check to Second Harvest at the volunteer event to support their work.
The bank has focused on fighting hunger nationwide for 12 years.
