Florida adds 140 coronavirus-related deaths, including 43 in Central Florida; almost 10K new cases

ORLANDO, Fla. — State officials reported another 140 deaths related to the coronavirus pandemic Wednesday, bringing Florida’s death toll to 5,459.

The single day increase topped the previous day’s total of 136 COVID-19 related deaths, according the The Florida Department of Health.

Here in Central Florida, there was a marked increase in the number of day-to-day deaths.

“Coronavirus

The 43 most recent local deaths include 14 each in Orange and Polk counties, five each in Seminole and Brevard counties, three in Volusia County and two in Marion County.

An additional 9,785 positive COVID-19 tests were reported Wednesday, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to 379,619 statewide, according to health officials.
