ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida has been named the best state in the country for boating in a new 2026 ranking.
BoatBooker placed Florida at No. 1 in its America’s Best Boating States 2026 list, which evaluated all 50 states on factors including boating interest, geography, infrastructure and affordability.
According to the company, Florida earned the highest boating-interest score in the country and has more registered boats than any other state.
BoatBooker also pointed to Florida’s year-round boating climate and 8,436 miles of coastline as major factors in the ranking.
“Florida has long been synonymous with boating, but our ranking shows just how many factors come together to make it the country’s strongest overall boating state,” BoatBooker CEO Vukan Simic said.
The company estimates Florida’s annual boating economy at $31.3 billion.

- Maine
- Minnesota
- Louisiana
- South Carolina
- Arkansas
- Rhode Island
- Texas
