ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 3,977 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.
This is less than the 4,165 cases added Friday and 4,504 reported Thursday.
Of the cases reported Saturday, 903 were in Central Florida.

State records show a total of 2,266,575 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Florida since the start of the pandemic.
State health officials also reported 66 virus-related deaths, including one person who was not a Florida resident.
Of the new deaths reported, nine were in Central Florida. Lake County reported four new deaths and Volusia County added three.
Records show 36,412 people have died from COVID-19 complications in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

COVID-19 vaccination efforts also continue across the state.
Records show 9,203,670 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine in Florida.
Including single shot and two-does vaccine numbers, 15,499,369 vaccine doses have been administered in the state.
The Food and Drug Administration is also expected to authorize emergency use of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 12 to 15 by early next week.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Advisory Committee has a meeting on Wednesday to discuss adopting the FDA’s age-expansion recommendation.
