Florida sees 2,600 new COVID-19 cases since yesterday as virus’ death toll surpasses 3K

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health on Wednesday reported 2,610 new cases of COVID-19 statewide since Tuesday, bringing the total to 82,719 cases.

The agency also reported 25 more deaths statewide since Tuesday, bringing the virus’ death toll to 3,018 people.

The agency said three of the deaths reported since Tuesday happened in Central Florida -- one each in Orange, Osceola and Volusia counties.

• Orange: 3,584 (147 new cases since Tuesday)

• Polk: 1,634 (68 new cases since Tuesday)

• Volusia: 995 (26 new cases since Tuesday)

• Osceola: 892 (26 new cases since Tuesday)

• Seminole: 876 (40 new cases since Tuesday)

• Brevard: 650 (42 new cases since Tuesday)

• Lake: 552 (54 new cases since Tuesday)

• Marion: 331 (six new cases since Tuesday)

• Sumter: 269 (one new case since Tuesday)

• Flagler: 214 (six new cases since Tuesday)
