The floor debate went on for more than 7 hours, and the measure passed with a vote of 70 yeas to 40 nays.
A recent poll from the University of North Florida had 75% of 1,452 respondents said they either somewhat or strongly opposed the six-week ban.
The bill will likely take effect 30 days after Florida’s Supreme Court issues a decision on the constitutionality of the 15-week ban that is already in effect.
