FLORIDA — More than 242,000 Florida students enrolled in Florida Virtual School’s individual online course program, FLVS Flex, during the 2025-26 school year. Students completed more than 706,000 semester courses during that period.
The course completion total marks a 10% increase from the previous school year.
The FLVS Flex program allows students to enroll in individual online courses year-round while remaining enrolled in their local public, private, or homeschool program. The milestone comes ahead of National Online Learning Day on Sept. 15.
During the 2025-26 school year, FLVS Flex served students across all 67 Florida counties.
Sam Verghese serves as chief executive officer and superintendent of Florida Virtual School. He noted that the flexible course structure allows families to tailor their education to individual academic and career goals.
“Students and families increasingly expect learning to support their lives, goals, and individual needs,” Verghese said. “Whether they want to accelerate their studies, recover credits, explore career pathways, or access courses unavailable locally, FLVS Flex helps students build a personalized educational experience that prepares them for future success.”
Students can enroll in FLVS Flex courses year-round, and FLVS Full Time applications will reopen Nov. 2 for the second semester. For more information, visit the FLVS site.
