ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A former Orange County corrections officer was arrested on charges of sexual assault, according to officials.
Michael Dean, 45, was arrested Wednesday night and booked into the Orange County Jail after accusations he sexually assaulted a female inmate.
Dean appeared before a judge Thursday morning.
"It does appear that there was not any force or threats or force used to make her a voluntary participant in this action," Dean's attorney told the judge.
The judge set Dean's bond at $10,300. He was released from jail shortly after noon.
Jail managers are saying very little about the investigation, but WFTV learned the investigation could involve a female inmate who was at the work release center where Dean was working.
Last week, 9 Investigates uncovered that Dean resigned amid an internal investigation.

According to court documents, Dean allegedly asked a female inmate into his office sometime between February and April and made her perform oral sex on him.
The documents said that afterward he allegedly gave her $15.
He is also alleged to have had sex with the inmate at least two other times.
The incidents allegedly occurred while the inmate was being held in the work release center.
According to documents, the inmate reported the incidents to police because she was afraid he was going to send her back to the female detention facility if she refused.
The documents also indicate that Dean would write letters to the inmate and have lower-ranking corrections officers pass them along to her and that he would allow her to sleep in when she was supposed to be working.
"There's always an issue of consent, but when you're a corrections officer and an inmate you have an upper hand, and certainly it can be argued that consent is not voluntary because the inmate believes they're going to suffer some repercussion if they don't yield to the sexual demands," WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said.
The current jail investigation involves an inmate who has a history of prostitution, drug and theft arrests.
Jail officials said the same day Dean resigned, the inmate was transferred from the Orange County Jail to the Seminole County Jail, but officials won’t specify why.
Dean was one of two officers disciplined in 2013 for fighting on the way back from a charity event.
Dean was demoted and rehired last year after being fired for punching a corrections sergeant during a booze-fueled fight on a charter bus on the way back from a Guns and Hoses charity event in 2013.
Records show the 2013 bus incident started over a female corrections officer.
After Dean punched the sergeant, the investigation showed the sergeant threatened to stab Dean and said he had an arsenal in his vehicle.
The sergeant was also fired and then rehired.
Dean is charged with three counts of sexual battery.
