Former Pine Hills church building plagued with crime could get new life

ORLANDO, Fla. — New life is being breathed into a building and block some say have been ignored for too long.

Community members reached out to Channel 9 to find out why nothing was happening with Agape Assembly Baptist Church, a building considered unsafe and a magnet for crime that sits on Hiawassee Road south of Silver Star Road.

Another church wants the property, but they had to overcome some roadblocks first. But on Tuesday, those roadblocks were removed.

The city approved an agreement for the liens and fines of the past so the property and Pine Hills community can move into the future.

The sale is expected in a few days.
