Protesters gather at City Hall in Orlando

Protesters have gathered at City Hall in downtown Orlando.
Channel 9 reporter Deanna Allbrittin said the protests has been more of a rally with speeches focused on what people can do to push for policy change.

Lake County to lift curfew Monday
2:45 p.m. update
Lake County officials said the current curfew in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. will be lifted Monday.
The curfew was put in place on May 31 in all unincorporated and incorporated areas of Lake County following credible threats of vandalism received by law enforcement, officials said.

Orlando police Chief Orlando Rolon released a statement regarding the ongoing protests.
“We all should accept change must come to all communities needing change. We hear you and are committed to fully embracing a process which will lead us to positive change. This is our home, we are all in this together,” he said.

Protest in downtown Orlando grew to 10,000 demonstrators, police say
10:30 a.m. update
On Saturday, a protest in downtown Orlando grew to 10,000 demonstrators, police said.
The demonstrations began with two groups, one at City Hall and one at Lake Eola.
Police said the groups eventually merged and marched around downtown for a few hours before returning to City Hall and Lake Eola.
They said the crowd eventually split into three groups: one at City Hall and two marched in different areas of downtown and east of downtown.
