ORANGE CITY, Fla. — A situation at University High School in Orange City started with complaints about a teacher having sex with female students, and escalated to that teacher and a 17-year-old student getting arrested.
Robert Bridger, 32, resigned last April, telling the school district he was leaving because of his wife’s relocation.
He was arrested a few months later and accused of raping a University High School student after getting her drunk at his home and forcing her into a bathroom.
Another student, Chasity Plante, 17, is accused of stalking the rape victim and trying to stop her from pursuing charges against Bridger.
According to a report, Plante told the victim, “She needed to call the attorney of Bridger and tell the attorney that she lied about everything.”

Plante told the victim she would get beat up a school if she didn’t make the call, the report said.
The victim said Plante harassed her in person, at school and via calls and texts.
The victim went to Bridger’s attorney and recanted her story, but while there, broke down crying and described the threats she received from Plante.
Bridger’s attorney said Bridger has maintained his innocence all along.
Bridger is awaiting trial.
