Gunfire erupts at vigil for teen shot to death a year ago in Parramore

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando Police are on scene of a shooting investigation along Columbia Street in Parramore.

The shooting took place sometime around 10 p.m. at the same location where, exactly a year ago, a 15-year-old was shot while he stood on his grandmother’s front porch.

A person living nearby said they heard two distinct bursts of many gunshots around 10 p.m.

The shooting happened Dec. 8, 2020 near the intersection of Columbia Street and Parramore Avenue. Police said the victim was Antwan Roberts Jr.

Community members said Roberts was a member of the local boys and girls club, visiting the community center nearly everyday.

Orlando police Chief Orlando Rolon said his agency got a 911 call and an OPD sergeant happened to be nearby. The sergeant found Roberts shot to death.

There is a growing memorial outside of Roberts’ grandmother’s home where he was shot and killed while standing on the front porch with a Capri Sun in his hand.

This is a developing story. Check back later for more information.
