Foundation work on one of Universal Orlando Resort’s future hotels serving the new Epic Universe theme park is underway -- marking a major point in construction.

Apopka-based contractor Finfrock Construction LLC filed a notice of commencement Sept. 2 for Project 912 -- the rumored project codename for one of Epic Universe’s hotels fronting Universal Boulevard, according to Orange County documents.
The expiration date of the permit, which may indicated the timeframe for the project’s completion, is June 30, 2025.
