Holiday travel surges at Central Florida airports over Labor Day weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. — It has been a busy Labor Day holiday weekend at the airports in Central Florida.

Nearly 120,000 people are expected to fly in and out of Orlando International Airport on Monday.

Airport leaders have asked people to arrive at least three hours before flights and it looks like many are following through.

There were smaller crowds for security lines Monday morning and things have been running smoothly.

The flight board at OIA also shows not too many cancellations or delays.

OIA leaders have estimated that more than 760,000 people will pass through the airport during the Labor Day travel period.

That’s nearly a 20% increase from last year.

Parking has also not been an issue at OIA with spots still available as of Monday afternoon.
