BREVARD COUNTY, Fla,,None — Titusville police told WFTV they don't plan to continue their search for a missing woman.
Officers spent hours digging in the backyard of the home on Gilbert Street in Brevard County on Thursday, trying to find Tisa Gantt.
She was last seen in January 2007, but no one knows if it is a case of foul play or if she simply disappeared.
She filed a sex assault charge against a local man just prior to her disappearance, officers said. A year after she disappeared, police said they searched the man's property for Gantt's remains, but the search came up empty.
Police said their new effort was prompted by new leads in the case.
Her brother was there for Thursday's search, and is still looking for answers.
“She had problems but that's no reason to put her in that back yard there like that. And I’m upset about it,” said Ray Gantt.
Investigators initially believed Gantt had left town on her own, but now they think she may have been taken against her will.
No new evidence was uncovered during Thursday's efforts. This was the third time officers dug in the area.
