NAPLES, Fla. - Authorities are searching for a man they say hit a woman with a baseball bat while she was jogging in East Naples.

The woman told Collier County Sheriff's deputies she was jogging in a park with her toddler in a stroller on Monday when a man jumped out of the bushes and hit her with a small baseball bat.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Michelle Batten told the Naples Daily News the woman was struck in the head and shoulder.

Batten says the victim sought medical care on her own.

She says the case is being treated as an attempted robbery because the victim's cell phone is missing.
