Lake Co. sex offender in jail, accused of sharing child porn

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A convicted sex offender is in jail Thursday in Lake County, accused of possessing and sharing child porn online.

Paul Parmer was arrested by detectives after they got a tip that he'd been allegedly posting pictures of underage teenagers all over the Internet.

The investigation began earlier in April when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children told Lake County deputies that child porn had been uploaded onto the social networking website Tumblr from an email account linked to Parmer.

Detectives searched his home and computer Thursday and said he admitted to sharing 200 pictures online, according to arrest papers.

Parmer was convicted of a sex act with a teenager in Illinois in 2007.

A woman at Parmer's home did not want to talk when asked about his arrest.

This latest incident has the neighborhood on edge.

Neighbor Dwayne Snell said he doesn't want people like that near his children.

"If he's arrested for child porn, let him rot in hell," Snell said.

Arrest papers said the child porn that Parmer posted could be viewed by anyone.

He's being held in Lake County Jail on $520,000 bond.
