UPDATE: Lockdown lifted at Mount Dora Middle School after no weapon found, district says

MOUNT DORA, Fla. — A lockdown that was placed on Mount Dora Middle School has been lifted, according to school officials.

11:55 a.m. update:

Lake County school officials confirmed that the lockdown that was placed on Mount Dora Middle School has been lifted.

School officials said law enforcement conducted a search of the school after reports of a student with a weapon on campus, but no weapon was found.

Officials said extra law enforcement will be at the school for the rest of the day as a precaution.

Police in Mount Dora said Mount Dora Middle School was placed on lockdown Friday.

Officers said the lockdown was issued after reports of a weapon on campus.

The Lake County School District said a student reported seeing a weapon on campus.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Police said they are working to secure the school.
