ORLANDO, Fla. — An attraction at Orlando's new Artegon Marketplace is now facing a lawsuit following the death of a man who fell on Christmas Eve.
Robert Belvoir, 52, was on the ropes course at the Sky Trail attraction when he feel 30 feet to his death.
"His daughter, Penelope, was there with her dad on Christmas Eve. They were celebrating that day together," said attorney Mark Nation.
The lawsuit was filed against the designer, manufacturer and installer of the ropes course, as well as the property owners.
Belvoir's 25-year-old daughter witnessed her father falling.
"He got onto the zip line and his harness came directly out of the track, and she saw him and watched him fall to his death," said Nation.
Nation said the case is about negligence and the lawsuit alleges Sky Trail was defective in several ways and "failed to conform to applicable safety standards governing aerial adventure courses."
The owner of Ropes Courses, Inc., the company that created the attraction, called the incident an unfortunate accident.
