DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach’s Main Street Bridge will close to vehicles and pedestrians Tuesday, Nov. 3, for scheduled maintenance expected to last through mid- to late December, according to Volusia County.

The bridge will be closed between North Halifax Avenue and Bowman Avenue around the clock throughout construction. The reopening schedule depends on weather and other conditions.

Crews will replace part of bridge deck

The project includes replacing a section of the concrete deck to its full depth, along with the adjacent sidewalk and railing on the eastbound portion of the bridge.

County officials said the work is part of routine maintenance intended to preserve the bridge and support its continued operation.

Drivers will need alternate routes

Motorists will need to use alternate routes to cross the Halifax River during construction.

Crews will install detour signs directing traffic around the work area. The closure also applies to pedestrians.
