OVIEDO, Fla. — An Oviedo man was killed Sunday after a mattress he was sitting on in the back of a pickup truck went airborne, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the incident happened Sunday afternoon on Osceola Road near Osceola Fish Camp Road.
FHP Sgt. Kim Montes said Paul Ginther Jr., 51, was riding on an unsecured mattress in the back of the pickup when the mattress flew off the truck bed, throwing Ginther to the road.
Ginther was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he died.
The truck was driven by Kenneth Connell, 48.
The investigation is ongoing.
