NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — The Marine Discovery Center has appointed local business owner and finance executive Michael “Mike” Manuel to its board of directors.

Manuel has more than 30 years of experience in commercial banking, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, hospitality, aerospace and other industries.

He is a co-founder of Pivotal Space, a Colorado-based aerospace and space technology company, where he leads the finance function. Manuel is also a principal and finance leader at BRWHP Properties and the owner and operator of Outriggers Tiki Bar & Grille in New Smyrna Beach.

“I believe deeply in its mission and the vital role it plays in protecting our coastal environment, educating future generations, and strengthening our community,” Manuel said. “As a local business owner and longtime community advocate, I am excited to contribute my experience and help MDC expand its impact for years to come.”

The Marine Discovery Center is a nonprofit focused on coastal conservation, education and exploration. Its work includes efforts to protect the Indian River Lagoon and surrounding coastal ecosystems.
