Ocala mom robbed, raped after dropping of child for volunteer work, police say

OCALA, Fla. — Police are working to track down a suspect who robbed and raped an Ocala mom.

Police said the rape happened around 7 a.m. Feb. 13 at Northwest 10th Street after the woman dropped her child off, who was doing volunteer work at the Citgo gas station.

While walking home, police said she was approached by a stranger.

The victim said the suspect then, "put a knife on her neck" and told her, "I'm not going to hurt you, don't look at me."

Detectives say while "holding the knife to her neck,” the suspect asked, "Where is the money?"

She didn’t have much, only a pack of cigarettes, $2 and a pocketknife, which the suspect took.
