PANAMA CITY, Fla.,None — A Panama City mother is accused of trying to prostitute her 8-year-old daughter.
Sue Mims, 33, was arrested on Wednesday, and is now facing one count of selling a minor for prostitution.
Police said Mims approached a man at a doctor's office and offered him her 8-year-old daughter for sex in exchange for $100.
But Mims denies the accusations and said that man is lying.
"Me and my daughter were in the doctor’s room together and all I did was get a cigarette from this person and told my daughter to back away from his vehicle. How this got from there to here I don't know,” said Mims.
Mims went before a judge on Thursday.
Her bail was set at $30,000.
Officials with the Department of Children and Families said the 8-year-old girl is currently in the custody of family members.
