Monday marks 27th anniversary of space shuttle Challenger explosion

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Monday marks the 27th anniversary of the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger.

The shuttle exploded less than two minutes after lift-off from the Kennedy Space Center in 1986.

All seven crew members were killed.

An investigation revealed that the cold temperatures compromised the seals on the solid rocket boosters, which led to the explosion.
