NASA shares new images of winter landscapes high above Mars

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — After most of the U.S. got an incredibly cold Christmas, NASA is now sharing what winter is like on Mars.

NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter capture photos that show the changing landscape from the planet’s winter.

The images show mega-dunes with carbon dioxide frost and ice on them, which makes parts of the planet look darker.

According to NASA, Mars experiences cube-shaped snow, and temperatures as low as negative 190 degrees.
