VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A certified nursing assistant providing in-home care to a Volusia County woman with Alzheimer’s disease is accused of opening a credit card in the 88-year-old’s name and using it to pay for plastic surgery.
Volusia County deputies said Tiffany Acuna, 31, also known by the last name Kent, used the card to pay $7,000 for multiple cosmetic procedures in November 2022.

When a detective contacted Acuna about the allegations, deputies said she initially denied applying for a credit card in the victim’s name and denied receiving cosmetic surgery.
Deputies said Acuna later contacted the victim’s husband and requested to meet up to set up a repayment plan.

On Thursday morning, deputies said Acuna arrived at the victim’s home with an envelope of $1,500 cash and a loan agreement contract. Deputies said they were there to meet her and take her into custody. She told deputies the victim had given her permission to use her identity to pay for cosmetic surgery.
Acuna is charged with grand theft and fraudulent use of ID without consent of a victim 60 or older.

Deputies said Acuna was suspended company she was working for on April 4, the day the allegations were made.
