OCALA, Fla. — Ocala police are looking for a man who they said escaped while he was in handcuffs.
Police said they were working to get the suspect from one cruiser to another during an arrest when he managed to get away.
Brothers Leroy Graham and Leron Graham are facing charges stemming from an incident Wednesday night at the Village Green apartment complex in Ocala.
Police said a woman in the complex asked Leroy Graham to turn down the music in his car because her infant was trying to sleep.
But instead of turning it down, police said he pointed a gun at her.
Police said he didn’t hurt her, and Leron Graham, who was behind the wheel, drove away. Investigators said the victim reported the crime and gave a clear description of the car.
Police tracked down the car on Northwest 4th Street.
When officers walked up to the car, they saw the brothers in the back seat and spotted a gun on the floor.
The men were arrested and when officers searched under the passenger’s seat, they found another gun, which they said was stolen from a Florida Highway Patrol troopers.
They said the FHP logo was filed off the weapon.
Later, as police were transferring Leroy Graham from one car to another, police said he somehow freed his hands from the handcuffs and ran off into the woods.
Police found the suspect’s shirt and said it wasn’t ripped, which leads them to believe he was able to get out of the cuffs.
Leron Graham, meanwhile, was taken to jail.
Along with the troopers’ gun, investigators said he also had ecstasy, Molly and crystal meth.
