Deputies: Man fatally shot in car in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies are investigating after a man was found fatally shot in a vehicle Monday morning.

Deputies said the vehicle was found on Ohio Avenue near Pine Street around 9:15 a.m.

"I was just in the house and I heard gunshots; they were real powerful," neighbor Sophia Morris said.

The victim was identified as 42-year-old Andrew Leaster, investigators said.

Residents who live in the area said it's known for drug activity.

"I don't call it Pine Street, I call it crime street, because it's ridiculous the stuff that's happening around here," Morris said.

The Sheriff's Office has not released a suspect description or a possible motive.

"If there's someone who firing shots and someone's deceased, hopefully we'll be able to get someone in custody or find out exactly what happened," Lt. Jeff Williamson with the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies told Channel 9 that they're investigating whether Leaster was driving the vehicle when he was shot.

"It's possible that the person in the vehicle was driving at the time and it ended up rolling into that area off of Pine Street," Williamson said.
